Our team is dedicated to seeing equity in education become a reality.
The Educator Academy was founded in 2015 to accelerate student achievement in local public schools through the recruitment, preparation, and support of highly skilled and diverse new teachers. Our teacher preparation program stands out in the depth of support that we provide, our unique focus on the Kansas City education landscape, and our commitment to developing anti-racist educators.
Our desire for all students to have a quality education—regardless of their background, zip code, race, or their socioeconomic status—drives everything that we do.

Company Values
The Educator Academy works to make an impact in the current education system, while also maintaining organizational and individual sustainability. This looks like inviting team members to give feedback and to reflect so we can adjust our practices as needed. We also intentionally take time to celebrate accomplishments. While there is a lot of work to be done, we also think it’s important to acknowledge and celebrate growth along the way.
As a staff, we work to build genuine relationships amongst ourselves and with our teachers to strengthen our collective impact. We strive to deepen our empathy and commitment to ourselves, our students, team, families, and community. We cultivate communities that ground each person in affirmation, value, support, and safety. Our organization’s core values direct how we approach our work. You can read more about our core values and what they mean to us.
