1. Instructional Leader Cohort

Cohort members develop a clear coaching philosophy, leverage The Educator Academy’s tools and processes to facilitate learning-focused coaching conversations that support teacher growth, and complete structured coaching cycles with a Focus Teacher at their school. 

Includes: 

  • 25 hours of professional development and collaborative workshops
  • 5 1:1 coaching sessions

2. Teacher Leader Cohort

Cohort members coordinate peer observations, lead PLC meetings rooted in data-analysis and action planning, and design a PD session that fits their school needs. 

Includes

  • 25 hours of professional development and collaborative workshops
  • 5 1:1 coaching sessions

At The Educator Academy, we work with schools to identify instructional gaps and opportunities to enhance teacher effectiveness. We customize our approach to address the challenges your school faces, and can work with your leadership team to develop solutions aligned to your goals.

1:1 Coach Development: Increase your Instructional Coach’s impact through recurring coaching cycles and quick-hit lessons derived from our Instructional Leader Cohort program. The Educator Academy offers job-embedded support for both new and experienced coaches. 

Surge Coaching: Contract an experienced, part-time instructional coach to drive teacher growth through recurring coaching cycles. Customized, agile coaching for teachers at any point in their career and development. Building leaders receive regular updates from The Educator Academy on teacher goals and progress.

Track Record of Success:
An independent research study conducted at the University of Missouri, found that students in The EA teacher’s classrooms outperformed their peers taught by teachers of similar experience levels. This was true both for teachers who were traditionally developed, and those trained and developed by other alternative programs. The same study indicated that The EA teachers were more likely to stay in the profession than other first-year teachers. This speaks directly to the value and power of our coaching and development practices.

The success of those educators is, in part, a result of strong relationships with our partner schools and the quality of our mentor teachers. It is also a direct result of The Educator Academy’s tandem strategy of providing high-quality professional development and effective, research based instructional coaching. In this way, those teachers act as examples and proof points of the efficacy of The Educator Academy’s coaching and professional development practices.
