It’s a well-known fact that our nation is experiencing a teacher shortage, and that Kansas City is no exception. The Educator Academy is responding to the need by recruiting, developing, and placing mission oriented individuals who want to make a deep commitment to working in high need urban schools in Kansas City.
For the past three years, The Educator Academy has brought new educators to the profession through our Residency and Residency Graduate programming, and this year will be no different. In fact, not only are we recruiting another cohort but we are maximizing our impact by increasing the number of individuals that are admitted to the Residency program.
If you or someone you know is passionate about equitable education for all students and has a bachelor’s degree from an accredited university, then he or she can apply to the Residency program.
The first step to applying is submitting an online application. Following the initial application stage is a phone interview, and upon successful completion of those stages, eligible candidates will be invited to the final stage of the admissions process known as Selection Day. Selection Day will take place three times over the course of the year. Selection Days include an in person interview and teaching demonstration, among other components. Programming will begin the following summer.
The Educator Academy is committed to our mission and wants to hear from you if you are considering teaching in Kansas City.
